In an effort to advance the bioeconomy, ELLIPSE, MixMatters, and BRILLIAN projects are collectively driving innovations in sustainable bioplastic production. By focusing on the efficient use of mixed bio-waste streams, these projects are developing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to produce high-value bioplastic materials and products.

  • ELLIPSE is pioneering the production of PHA-based materials for mulching applications and packaging, ensuring high-performance biodegradable solutions. The project also optimizes the recovery of VFAs from organic waste, essential for bioplastic production.
  • MIXMATTERS enhances the separation and valorization of bio-waste using integrated AI optical sorters and enzymatic recovery processes. This ensures the production of high-quality polymer building blocks necessary for bioplastics.
  • BRILIAN supports the adoption of sustainable business models and provides bio-based products for farms, such as soil mulch film, promoting circular economy practices.

Together, these projects are not only reducing environmental impact but also creating economic opportunities and advancing regulatory frameworks. Through comprehensive assessments, optimization toolkits, and targeted training materials, they ensure the scalability and market readiness of bioplastic innovations.

For all these reasons For this reason, the three projects applied to the Horizon Results Booster. This service will support our project group in designing a joint dissemination plan for the portfolio and carrying out the actual dissemination of the results.
